Dear Thomas,

as you suggested I am moving the discussion here.

I have R 3.4 installed. I have now managed to get rscproxy and rcom installed in the suitable directory. I have downloaded and installed the latest statconn.

When I go and run Rexcel 3.2.16, during the installation it seems to look for a R.2.13 version of the software, which I have removed as some packages are no longer compatible.

As a result, although the Rexcel option appears in the excel ribbon, it does not manage to connect to the R 3.4 version of the software.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Larry

Dear Larry,

if you are looking for help with RExcel, please ask on the mailing list rcom-l.

If you think the problem is due to an installation issue with statconnDCOM, please post the appropriate information (see http://autstat.com/index.php/Support/topic/23.html)

Best regards,
Thomas

The registry says, that the current R version is installed in "C:\R\R-2.15.3"

Maybe you forgot to add version information to the registry when installing the new version of R

It appears that some of the issues arise due to the various versions of R installed on my machine. I need 3.4 for having access to some of the latest packages. I have tried eliminating R 2.13 altogether but the latest Rexcel installer as downloaded here does not find a correct R version in the registry. I am not sure I can play around in the registry by myself.

If I remove all versions of R and related softwares and reinstall from scratch, do you think it might work?

Thanks again,

Larry

I'm sorry, but I cannot help you concerning RExcel.

For statconn Excel it would be enough to run RSetReg.exe on the R version you want to use.
